volvo penta steering cable

Does anyone know how to remove the steering cable on a 2001 volvo penta 5.7 DP. Cable is seized, I need to replace it. pls help !! tks

Here is how to remove the cable.
Remove pin 1.
Remove the steering cable nut from the tube (use wrench on tube so it doesn't turn)
Pull cable out.



Should the cable be frozen inside the tube, remove pin 2 and swing the bracket out of the way, then use a mallet to knock the cable back flush with the tube. Then use a wood dowel to finish knocking it out of the tube.
DO NOT hit the end of the cable with a steel hammer or punch. You will flare it out and never get it out of the tube.

On the cable somewhere on one end or the other is the length stammped in it.
You need to get the same size. Too long will be impossible to install.

Profile? Location? You might be close to someone who can help?
