Volvo 4.3 gs will not start

The motor had a bad starter removed starter and battery replaced starter and ignition relay. Went to start and got nothing but a click from the relay.I have power at the key switch, the yellow/red has power at the relay but no power out of relay when relay is jumped the motor will start, but when key switch and battery switch is turned off the motor still runs (w/starter still engaged) then somehow shuts down on its own. The purple shows power w/test light at starter, but the yellow/red does not when messing w/ key switch, engine turns over when starter is jumped w/screwdriver also, and since putting the battery back in, the gauges are going crazy and the trim does not work either... Im completly lost and desperatly need help...

What is the full model number of your engine, or the serial number.

Serial# 4110128733 its a 1996 motor

Let me just take a wild guess here. Did you replace the starter with an automotive starter? Then find it was missing a terminal to put the purple wire on? And then just put the purple wire on the same terminal as the yellow/red wire?
If you did, there is your problem.
Get the proper starter (Marine is also ignition protected so you don't blow yourself up) and it has that extra terminal.

Is the purple wire on terminal D?
Yellow/red stripe wire on terminal B ?

Yes purple on D red from battery on A yellow/red on B and also another red on B. Both wires on B are coming from the relay

Both wires on B are coming from the relay

There should only be ONE wire on terminal B, not 2 (aka "both").

Ok removed red from b an put with other red on A,now trim works but motor starts as soon as key is in run position and starter stays engaged

Post a clear picture (big enough to see) of the wiring on your starter solenoid.

Make sure none of the wires or cables are touching the other terminals. Looks like the red battery cable is actually touching the terminal for the purple wire. Had to say what the yellow/red wire is doing.

All wires on starter were good jumped key switch and motor ran fine (bad key switch at the end of all other issues) thank you so much for your help ill be back out on the water this weekend
