We are updating our 83 Bayliner and wanted to add a true tilt/trim gauge to replace the "bulb" indicator on the dash. We are running into issues where as everyone says we can not update to a current style gauge. Is there anyone that has info about how to add or convert the current T/T system to one that will allow us to have a visual gauge on the dash. The current T/T is motor driven with the reverse polarity relays and not the hydraulic system. Any suggestions or info about this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

The 270's do not have trim, only tilt.

There is no place to put a sender, and without a sender you can't hook up a gauge.

I dont Know if a sender unit would do you any good anyway. If I read correctly in another post the other day the 270 out drive is designed to run in the full down position only. When the light is on you will have no reverse and could damage the trim system. I just had to replace my trim moter and had a miserable time getting my boat back to shore and out of the water. I caution you to be careful.
