Dwell With Pertronix

Ive been having a nightmare with timing ever since i got this boat, and now that im in florida, i have lost my 2 favorite boat mechanics...

i was told that there is no more dwell with electronic ignition... but yet ive been dropping a cylinder and weird bogging at higher rpms.... just checked the alternator, runs at 13.65 volts... seems a little low.... was thinking of sending the distributor off and getting it rebuilt and bench tested before i pull anymore hair out... anybody disagree???
all the spark plugs are new and burn well...

ill check compression again.. timing belt is correct..

ok well figured out my problem...

bad alternator, and had the pertronix ignition setup wrong... the red wire needs to be on a NON resisted acc wire... i had mine hooked up at the + of the coil which was resisted...
