I have a new to me 2004 Glastron 175 SX with the Volvo Penta 3.0GLM-C motor. It has a manual fuel pump on the side and has an integrated fuel filter built into the pump. The operators manual says that it is a 10 micron water separating fuel filter (pn: 3855104). Is that true? Is it really a water separating fuel filter? Is the screw on the bottom a drain or for disassembly? Thanks for any info on the subject.

Re: Volvo Penta 3.0GLM-C Fuel Pump Filter Question

It might be, but only if it has a teaspoon full of water or less. The screw on the bottom only holds the bowl on.
Best thing you could do for your fuel system is install a water separating fuel filter kit with a 10 micron filter and check the contents and change it yearly.
Here is the type filter I'm talking about. http://www.iboats.com/Water-Separat...51057020--session_id.090461785--view_id.45101

I have a Volvo 3.0 GLP-E and my replacement fuel filter part# is 3855104. Could I use one of the above water separating kits also?

Thanks
