Volvo Composite Outdrive

I'm looking at the Regal 2665 but most of them come with the Volvo composite outdrive. Ive read some good and not-so-good opinions of them. I just wanted to write in and get y'all thoughts on that type of outdrive.

They are JUNK..................... Assuming you are referring to the XDP
Volvo even stopped manufacturing them after a few years. The X now means ex.
They are NOT a composite drive, just a composite coating over aluminum, and the aluminum did corrode, you just couldn't see it.
They had a bad habit of killing the ujoint bellows, and water in the bellows was a constant problem. Volvo stopped manufacture after the last campaign to cure the bellows problem.
Working on them is very difficult, even to just take the drive off and put it back on.
Few dealers have tools to work on them.

When I first saw them (about 7 years ago on a new boat that apparently was not selling), my first thought was . . . which metal looses in the 'galvanic corrosion war' once you put it in the water, particularly salt water.??? The answer that I said to myself was 'the gears and the bearings'.

I have not seen once since then.
