I have a Volvo Penta 5.0gxi-f with raw water pump #3812519 (new number I think is 21212799). Is there a part number for the seal behind the impeller or if that goes bad does the whole thing need to be replaced? By seal I don't mean the o-ring for the housing I mean the seal that goes around the shaft that the impeller slides onto.

Here is a pic but the breakdown and seal aren't shown. http://www.volvopentastore.com/Seaw...*****.689624301--store_id.366--view_id.790787

Also, I know the mercruiser freshwater cooled engines need to have the water come through the hull instead of the drive, what is different with the volvo penta engines that allow it to go through the drive?

Merc allows it too. Most Bravos are through the drive.

Oh ok, I didn't know that I. I always heard otherwise. Any idea about that seal with behind that Pump impeller?
