Volvo SX drive trim tilt problem

My Trim / Tilt pump is intermittent. The plastic connector on the harness going to the pump motor seemed loose so I hard wired it which didn't solve the problem. The relays klick when I toggle the trim button on the throttle but the pump doesn't work. I haven't taken the relays out of the sockets but could corrosion be the cause ? Bad ground ?

Sure corrosion can do it, it could also be a defective relay. Intermittant is a tough thing to troubleshoot, because you have to test while the problem is happening.

I haven't pulled the relays to see how the sockets look. Are both relays the same ?

I had same problem with mine was a loose connection but now having trouble with it not tilting up whilst moving
