Volvo single prop/duo prop switch

I have a volvo single prop.
SP CD Trim.
I'm told by volvo it is a newer model than the 280's or 290"s.
Gear ratio is 2.15
Could anyone tell me if I could take the bottom end of a 290 and swap it out.
The duoProps come in 2 gear ratios'
1.95 and 2.3
I have a 18 ft campion explorer with a 150 hp engine.
I have a 15/19 prop on it and it maxes out at 4800 rpm.
that gets me about 30 mph.
I generally cruise at 23 mph and 4200 rpm.
Which would I want.
Just looking for a little more speed.
Would appreciate any info.

That is true.

What engine is that? 4 or 6 cylinder?

You can't use the DP drives with a 4 cylinder engine. Just not enough torque or HP to push a DP.
