Hello
I have a
2004 Four Winns
3.0 litre Volvo GLP-C (3869250 4012108750)
Transom TSK SX-M (3868844 4151044430)
When starting the engine, I will get a click sound, then when I try it a few more times, I will hear a ping sound like the starter gear hitting the flywheel. Then the next try it will start? Sounds like an alignment issue?
When I bought the boat second hand, the owner had just had the starter replaced by a marina service shop. I could see that it was a different starter as the colour was different, so I know it had been changed. I believe that this could be an issue due to the bracket is not installed on the starter to the engine? Marina did not replace it I guess or lost it? What I am looking for is the correct part number for a new starter and bracket/ accessory kit (bolts bracket shims) and also a location around Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to purchase one.
I had another person mention to me that it may be a relay issue?
Also another question, is this engine actually a GM? And could I get a GM marine starter?
Note please verify that I have found the correct part numbers for the 2004 Volvo Penta 3.0 GLP-C s/n 4012108750.

Any help is appreciated
