Volvo Penta SX Lower Unit

I need to remove the Lower Unit on my Volvo SX drive. Is it difficult to do, any special tools needed, and what should be replaced when reinstalling it? Any and all help would be greatly appreaciated. Also, has anyone had a lower unit repaired/welded? If so, what what the outcome. thanks again

Why do you need to remove the lower unit from the drive?? There isn't a raw water pump in there if that's what you are looking for.
What model SX is it?

I have a small crack in the unit from it freezing over the winter. I have found a machine shop willing to weld it. I believe it is an SX 80 on a 3.0 135hp

No such thing as an SX80. There should be a tag with the model number and serial number on the port side of the drive. Year might even help.
