2002 Glastron GX 185 4.3 Volvo V6 Got Hot suddenly, Most likely Impeller?

Had my 2002 Glastron 185 freshwater, intake clear never replaced impeller, got hot alarm went off, temp 185, shutdown, manifolds hot, let cool stared fine, ran alarm went off. Seen where they recommend replacing impeller 2-3 yrs?? Could someone send me procedure, done a few of these thru years, out drive splits between upper and lower? Would apprec any scheimatics exploded views ect. Would apprec Dan

Well, you obviously never owned a Volvo before. Volvo has never used a pump in the outdrive.
Your raw water pump is on the front of the crankshaft of your engine.

Below is a link to the OEM service manual. The cooling system section explains how to change the impeller.

If you can do your own impeller, for the price do it before every season.

Thanks Don, Easy enough, suppose I should pull thermastat and backflush to remove impeller parts ?? Thanks Dan
