Hello there,

Just a bit of a newbie errance here, or is it?

I have been looking for that shift interrupt switch on my Powerquest 380 with twin Penta 5.8 FSi (engine by Ford). I looked all along the switch cables, from the controls to the point where cables enter a slightly larger rubber tube and go through the rear. There isn't any device whatsoever.

Removing the Gaffrig controls (4 handles) I located the tiny neutral safety switch under the pivot of shift handles, but no other device...

So where is that shift interrupt switch?

That's a Powerquest 380 with twin Penta 5.8 FSi (engine by Ford)

Any hints? can't believe it's in the transom?

Best regards to all

Volvo's don't use shift interrupt switches. But your engine may have it because it's on an engine used during the Volvo/OMC joint venture engine.

Thank you Sir! That reassures me and deepens my perplexity as to why my port engine stalls when engaging forward or reverse at idle. I searched the numerous posts here on this issue and over 90% mention that shift interrupt switch as primary element to check. But if Volvo's don't have one... ... garlic and some holy water perhaps lol
