I have a 2002 Cobalt 190 with Volvo motor. It had been stored for 2 years. Washed motor, replaced gas and put octane booster in with new gas. then pulled it about an hour to the lake. Wouldn't start without spraying a little carb cleaner in the carb and seems to idle too slow acts like it will die and then does die unless you increase rpms. Did manage to get it going out on the lake and it ran like a champ no misses at all. docked it let it set for a couple of hours and tried to start it, same thing all over again. Can you adjust the idle or is it something else?

Do you use the throttle only position of the throttle shift control and pump the throttle a time or two either before or during cranking?

Yes, I have "pumped" the gas, doesn't seem to make a difference.

Does the accelerator pump squirt gas in to the engine when you pump the throttle?

You'll probably have to hold the choke plate open and have the Admiral "pump"....to see the squirt happen. ;)
