Hello all! I have just registered and am very happy to be here!

Forgive me if my topic has come up before but from a quick search that i performed i couldn't find something specific on my matter.
I own a 22ft Larson with the above mentioned engine and would really appreciate it if you could help me on how to adjust my spark advance timing and which are the right settings in this case.
Thank you very much in advance !!!

You can set the inititial timing, but you can't change the advance timing. Below is the procedure. You want to see 8? BTDC on your engine. You will need an advance timing light to set the timing correctly.

Hello again!
Going through your extremely helpful reply i came up with a couple of silly amateur questions: how is the advance set and which one is cylinder no 1 looking at the engine from bow to stern?
Don S ???
Thank you very much again!

Like I said in my previous post, you can't set your advance timing. that is done by the ECM.

Hello again! A good friend of mine who is far more aware of these things than i am helped me and did everything you advised and happily the outcome of the test was the exact 8 degrees BTDC that you mentioned! I guess then everything is ok since spark plugs, wires, distributor cup and coil have just been replaced and the sound of the engine seems razor sharp. I hope that i will finally manage to take her out of the marina this weekend and that will be the ultimate test!
Thank you again!
