Volvo SX drive shift cable/control question

I have a 1995 Volvo Penta SX 5.0fi. Installing new control box, and I need to know:

Do I have a push to go forward, or a pull to go forward?

In other words, when you pull the shift cable, are you placing the drive into forward gear, or reverse? Thank you for your assistance.

Shift cable should ?PULL? for forward gear on right hand rotation SX and DP-S drives.
