I cannot remove the trim/tilt pivot rod on my 2006 Volvo DP, i have read some posts with regard to the problems with the removal of the trim/tilt pivot rod, but i haven't seen any solutions, anyone have any ideas?
I have tried a wood block and hammer, a hammer and punch, but the pin did not budge.

I assume you are talking about the rod that back end of the trim cylinders attach to. if so...

not to insult your intelligence, but did you remove the e-clip first? try removing the other one and beating it in the opposite direction. you could also try blocking the drive up to take the load off the rod. If that fails, I would try removing one ram entirely and get a pipe wrench on the end of the rod to break it loose.

I use a punch but before you do that, soak with PB blaster or some other solvent. I grease the heck out of them when I reinstall. If you are just taking the drive off, you do realize that you don't have to remove that shaft right?
