I am doing some other maintenance on my boat (v/P 3.0 GSP - C) amd thought it would be a good idea to change the fuel filter as the boat is a 2002 and I am not sure when or if it has ever been changed.

My dealer gave me V/P Part # 3854019 which looks like it is on the carb but all searching I have done makes it sound like there is only one on the fuel pump. I am not sure if I have the correct part.

help needed. also, if it is in the area where the fuel line comes into the carb, how do you remove the fuel line to get at it. The fitting looks a bit different and I don't want to do any damage!

Re: Volvo Penta Fuel Filter

Yes, that PN does go in the carb.

There is also one in the Fuel pump. Item 2.

The best thing you could do for 3.0 L engine rather Volvo, Merc or OMC is to install a water seperating fuel filter between the tank and the fuel pump.
It would eliminate having to replace the other filters because nothing but clean fuel would reach them, plus, water (to a point) would be stopped.
