Volvo XDP trim sender replacement

Perfect is the enemy of Good. My starboard trim indicator required adjusting after mounting the drive, just had to be perfect.... Then, it read off the scale,high...the sender had exposed wires and probably shorted...

Just replaced the sender $245(!!!), but the gauge does not move from the high-off scale position...

The manuals are no help. It got dark, so I could not test it on the port side...

Any suggestions on troubleshooting? Reach for the ohmmeter?

Never mind! The thing works when properly connected...

I should not have tried to do this in the dark. The connectors have to be pressed together properly to make good contact....

The trim is done, and the yard will launch next week...
