Volvo 5.0 GI fuel cell failure/Racor Filter

I have a 2000 V.P. 5.0 GI and the fuel cell is wining and I suspect it is about to give out. I got 7 yrs. out of it so I'm just chalking it up to replacement time. I want to put a Racor water seperating fuel filter on when I replace the cell. My question is they make many types that have different GPM ratings. How many GPM filter does the 5.0 need. Is there a certain location it needs to be mounted. Any info would be greatly apperciated.
