Volvo Penta SX-M Hole in Lower drive unit

Can anyone tell me what the hole, with the rust streak coming from it, is for? I can't find any info on it and wondering if its even supposed to be there.

Ayuh,... It's a Drain Hole to drain the cavity above it...

Ah, yes. As soon as I removed the anode, I could see that its a drain hole for the cavity under the anode.

I have an issue with the same hole only with mine the lower unit lubricant leaks from it and empties the cavity. Any ideas?
