Before you all flame me, I'll sheepishly admit I KNOW these units should be filled from the bottom up. However, I discovered my lube pump was broken after being lent to a friend for use. I have successfully filled from the top down on my 2005 Chap 260 SSi with no trouble in the past, but it takes time. This time, I squeezed a little less than 2 quarts in forcefully from the top in less than 5 minutes. The lube ran out the top fill hole, and even after 48 hours, the level hadnt dropped. Given that I know the capacity is about 2.5 quarts, I assume I have an air bubble in the unit. Whats the best way to rectify this issue?? If I run the unit some, will that release the air void?
I am definitely going to get a new lube pump. I have learned my lesson.
