260 volvo lower unit stuck

I have been trying to disconnect a 260 volvo stern drive unit off boat. It will not disconnect from engine. The yoke is visable. I have sprayed wd40 and pb blaster. Does not budge. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Are you trying to remove the entire outdrive? 260 outdrive? No such thing.

Yoke? The ujoint yoke slips over the drive shaft in the intermediate assembly and should slip off easily. Why are you removing the entire drive?

Am I understanding you right?

I am removing it as it needs all new bearings etc. It may need to be all rebuilt. The last time it was run the lower unit made awful sounds. It is totally stuck and does not come out at all -easily would have been nice. Any ideas on how to loosen it? I have tried wd40, pb blaster and heat. Thanks for your help.

You could remove the upper gear unit first. that may make it easier to pull the yoke off the driveshaft. The yoke goes over the driveshaft so it may be difficult to get any penetrating oil in there.

What model outdrive is it? 270,280,290?
