We are on vacation with our '96 chaparall and apparently the shift cable has gone bad. I need some help figuring out how to replace the cable. Any step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated. 96 volvo penta duoprop with 4.3 GL.
There isn't any step by step information on changing a cable, but below are links for installing a remote control, and a drive install manual. They should give you an idea of how to go about it.
The remote manual may not look like yours, but the internal parts are about the same for installing a cable and taking it apart.
