volvo penta 270 trouble, forward goes reverse

I have 2 chevy 350 engines that go to 2 volvo penta 270 outdrives. The port and starboard engines and outdrives were both working great. The port still works great, however the starboard engine all the sudden only goes in reverse.It will go into neutral but when I engage it into gear it only goes reverse (even when in forward gear). This created a sticky situation while trying to dock. Anyways please help, what could have happend?

You are going to have to remove the cover on the back of the drive, and see what the shift mechanism is doing when you change gears. May be a cable problem, but whatever it is, it's going to have to be out of the water to fix.
