Does this have a solenoid or relay, other than the one on the starter itself, in the starting circuit? They show one in the diagram, but I cannot locate it. Any idea where they are typically located? Mine appears to have the ignition switch wired straight to the starter.

If it's supposed to have one I want to install one.

Thanks.

I don't think the 120B had either a relay or a solenoid. Volvo uses relays, so I know it wouldn't be a solenoid. But there is nothing wrong with installing one, It's easy and it takes a lot of strain off the OLD wire and connections.
If you do want to install one, the thread below should show you how to do the job.

I was/am worried about burning up the contacts in the new ignition switch I just installed. Thanks.

I'll have to consider that yet another project. ;)

I installed a volvo relay and what a difference. No more click/no start, and the starter turn right over as soon as you turn the key. The relay had a schematic etched right on the case making installation easy.

I'm glad I installed it. :D
