The seal/o-ring on one of my trim cylinders has dry rotted/cracked/split and aint there no more. I tried to find a replacement seal/o-ring but am not having any luck, looks like you have to buy a new $$$ cylinder just to replace the seal. Is there any other fixes someone can recommend? How long can i do w/o this seal? It's not leaking fluid out but will it somehow suck H20 in?

Re: Volvo Trim Cylinder

Not familiar with that particular cylinder but replacement seals for hydraulic cylinders can be found at local industrial suppliers. Problem would be knowing the sizes required. You would have to remove the seals and bring them in to match them up.

Do a google search on "hydraulic lip seals". Maybe there is a industrial supplier in your area.
