volvo penta 3.0 l fuel filter

When doing yearly maintenanceon a 2006 VP 3.0L GL-P does the fuel filter need to be replaced. In the manual it describes cleaning a fuel filter screen but there does not appear to be a canister type filter on this model.

Any advice on what should be done do I just clean the screen or do I replace a filter?

They don't come with a canister type filter. Best thing you could do for your boat is to install a water seperating fuel filter between the fuel pump and the tank somewhere. It will save you a lot of problems later on if you get water in your tank.

These work just fine, and you can find the spin on at about any marine store, and most all NAPA and Walmart stores to name a few places.
