I appreciate any help. I have a 2000 volvo penta 5.0 gi. Recently had the boat maintenanced and the fuel pump replaced.

The boat starts and idles out of the harbor fine. When it gets on plane the engine starts cutting out and eventually dies. I cannot re-start it.

Once I disconnect and re-connect the fuel pump wire harness.....runs fine again. Could be all day or for 15 mins. then I have to disconnect and re-connect again.

Could it be just the connection?

Thanks.

Howdy

I think you have a corrosion issue. Being intermittent kind of confirms it. Pulling the plug off and back on, your moving the harness and connection points. I have looked at connectors which look great to only find out the wire inside was coming apart.
