VolvoPenta 4.3GL PEFS - Replacing Exhaust Manifold Reduction Sleeve & Plug

Hello all,
I'm replacing the exhaust manifold reduction sleeve and plug (old plug broke off inside the sleeve) and noticed the new plug came with thread compound already on it but the sleeve did not. Looking at the old sleeve I don't think there was any on it either, but thought I would check in to get opinions. Do I need to apply some to the sleeve as well or is it installed dry?

Before posting I searched the archives and google but no luck finding the topic, my apologies if it's there and I missed it.

I would still put some Permatex Aviation on the threads to make it easier to remove for winterizing...it will also prevent corrosion in the threads of the ex manifold
