Does this pump housing look worn?

I have a 5.7GI-C and am chasing an overheat at idle issue. The pump housing is mostly smooth, the flat part is worn enough to catch my fingernail, also there is a low spot between the intake and exhaust grates. I dont know if that is enough to cause issues. Ayuh,.... Agreed,... If you can see any wear, it's worn out,...

I am going to check the "backplate?" when I get home. I assume it is the same with that, if I feel any wear the whole assy would need replaced? Is my situation uncommon? Did the previous owner severely port and polish the pump with lake sand?

welp the back piece has pretty significant gooving(loks like the front) it doesnt surprise me since it is in the same place. It really sucks though! The good thing about my old alpha one was that the whole kit was less 1/4 the cost of this one. Looks like I will be getting an assembly
