Hi, I have a Volvo penta aq130d on a 1977 bayliner. After a day on the lake I'm noticing a lot of smoke coming from the hose that fits on the flame arrestor. Is this normal?

Just a bit of blow by from the piston rings. How many hours has the motor got on it? If you are really worried about it you might like to do a compression test. If the results are not good then you might just have found your new project for the winter. Re-bore and rebuild.

Honestly I thought they all did that. I have a brand new motor and it smokes.
