After rebuilding my carb on a Volvo penta 4.3 everything went well. Took it out yesterday taking off from dock was uneventful. No issues ran great.
Stoped for a while with engine off. Then when started back up. After about 30 seconds it died. Acted like ran out of fuel......took 3 or 4 try's to start back up...then no issues ean it wide open for a while.....no issues.....
Went to the marina and left it running for about 3 minutes. Got back in went about 15 seconds it died again......started back up after 2 try's....and ran like a champ...
I was thinking the floats were not set right but ran wide open for about 5 to 7 minutes.....

Scratching head on this one...

First of all what was it doing that made you rebuild it?

The Holley is a very simple but well engineered carb. How completely did you disassemble the carb, and what parts on it did you replace? Inlet needle and seat? Power Valve? Accelerator Pump Diaphragm? Is the choke opening properly? Float level set to spec? When you replaced any gasket did you compare the new one to the old one? Is the fuel filter/water separator clean?
