Remote oil filter line replacement

After seeing the threads on the remote oil line issues, I'm going to look at either replacing mine or taking off the remote adapter all together and put the filter on the block directly.

I checked my engine and it is NOT in the recalled engines, but its close. Are the correct replacement hoses part # 3887767?

If I do want to take the remote oil adapter off, how does it mount to the block? Any tricks to removing it?

First I would say you shouldn't have any issues with the remote filter. Folks that have issues with the remote could also have issues with the filter being used.

That said, if you have room to get at the filter its easy to remove. Just remove item 22 in link below, off comes the adapter and then screw your filter on

I thought I died and went to heaven the first boat I got that had a remote filter option. Yesterday I changed the filter on my Volvo penta 4.3 , and I used a lot of words you never use in Christmas carols. Dave-R
