bayliner is missing the motor it was a 305 chevy

i just picked up a 1966 marktwain that some one has installed a newer volvo AQ275 with a a 260 B motor i assume that this is a 350 chevy

if i can save the bayliner this motor will go in it did the 305 and 350 have the same gear ratio?

not sure yet of the condition of the motor or of eaither one of the out drives is there anything i should be looking for on thedrives

You are not going to find a manual for your AQ275. Your AQ275 should match a SP/DP-A. Volvo Penta can be mix and matched between several different models so can be hard to identify with certainty. Post a pic from the side as that will help identify what transmission you have for sure.
Also the proper gear ratio you are looking for is 1.61:1
Take off the anode behind the prop and clean it off. Stamped someplace on the carrier will be the gear ratio of that lower unit.
Here is a Downloadable Outdrive manual.

The 275 is not like a DP-A. The DP-A is what the 290 became

Manual with 275 is in both of the links I listed
