Good afternoon, was wondering what is the easiest way to feed a new control/shift cable from engine compartment to stern drive . I pulled the old one out and pull some tie wire with it so I would have something to help guide the cable through. Do I tape the wire to cable? I,m worried it may ship off when pulling new cable through. Am I on the right track or is there a better method.. Thanks in advanced.

That's what I'm going to do. I'm going to use a length of string, tie it off to the cable. Disconnect the cable at the shifter and remove the top cover on the outdrive and disconnect the cable there as well. Then just pull it out the rear of the boat along with the string. Then attach the string to the new cable and pull it back through. Shouldn't be too difficult I don't think.
