1980 gamefisher 7.5 hp

Hello all I'm new to this forum! I have a 7.5 game fisher that needs a new impeller, I don't know how the shift linkage unhooks. Also, I'm being told that the parts are hard to come by. I could use a gas cap and maybe a new / used prop too. Thanks for any help!

Ebay has plenty of parts and when you un-bolt the foot it should drop down about 1 inch. You will see the shift linkage which is 2 piece with a connector holding the 2 together. Undo the connector and your good from there.

When I unbolt it I can't get to the connector, it only drops down less than 1/2 an inch,

should drop about an inch or so. Try wiggling.The drive shaft might be a little snug.Send me your email address and I will send you the manual. Depending on you lower unit it could be different than what Im telling you. The manual covers all 3 lower units and how to remove them.
