McCulloch/ Scott

I recently came across a McCulloch/ Scott, 25 hp outboard. Can anyone tell me how to find out what year it is?

There should be a model number somewhere on the mounting bracket.My information is a little vague.
I'll guess the 28 appeared in 61 there was a model numberl change in 61 Early numbers were 4 digits later were 8 numbers.
8 numbers the first 2 numbers are the year.still later numbers are 5 numbers. No clue where the years is on them.

Looks like the Scott-McCulloch branded motors were made 1958-1963. Of those years, the 25hp was made in 1959 & 1960. It became 27.5hp in 1961
