Info help please.

I have an old boat with a Sea King motor . Engine cover has a 40 HP on it. However, I'm told it's a 35 HP Sea King. Model GG 18805A
Serial # 36X870435 can anyone tell me it's age. I went to two sites that were useless for this information. Also any manuals "owners or Repair" would be helpful. I'm running a oil to gas ratio of 50:1. Is this too lean or correct. Thank you.
