I am looking for further info about this old Montgomery Ward sea king. It has spark and compression so I am thinking about using it. I need to know the fuel mixture ratio as well as the type of gear oil that goes in the lower unit. I also would like to know who made it. Thanx for any help.

I'm no Sea King expert but I'll try to get you started.
Built by Gale a devision of OMC.they made many private label motors.
You have me stumped on the model number If its a single its a 3 hp.
Fuel mix from my 5 sources is 1/2pt per gallon use TCW3 rated oil. I believe the 3 and 5 hp straight drive use lubriplate 105 grease
in the gearecase. The 3 uses a J4J champion plug the 5 uses a J6J all set at .030. points set at .020.

Nope. It is a 1941, 8.5hp, made by Evinrude. Fuel mix is one pint per gallon! Breaker points .020, Spark plug 6M or J-9 gapped at .025. Try cross referencing those! Agree on the 105 in gearcase.

EDIT: It is an Evinrude model 471, made for monkey wards.
