Looks a lot like a Firestone that I found on Utube, Elgin? Scott Atwater?
If theres a part that I NEED to take a pic of, lemmie know. I can do that.
Thanks

Pic 1 - box shows the SImpson Sears name
Pic 2 , Starter rope pull, Fuel tank

No Title

Pic 4 shows a problem - the pivot action hits the mounting frame. Bushing missing maybe?
Pic 5 shows the different choke config compared to (I think) the late 40's choke on the Firestone I saw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAOOGSr3ZUg
But that does not have the carry handle strap on the back, and its a 3.6hp
Pic 6 tells us to use ALLSTATE oil in the motor. (sears again).

My first thought based on the motor cover shape and design was Elgin from what I have seen over the years. I am in no way an expert on old outboards but have seen them on ebay and craigslist and that one rings a bell.Charlie
