3HP Gamefisher Sears Mod. 298585190 how to spin around for reverse??

The manual slightly refers to a lever to turn motor prop around to go in reverse that I have not yet figured out how to do this. Have any clues to how it is done??

also how far below the boat hull does the propeller have to be or should be?? mine just clears the bottom of the hull

The motor has to be low enough for the prop and anti vent plate to clear the bottom of the boat in reverse.
Try to rotate it around and see if you can see what stops it.Are you sure your model will reverse?

It's not designed for a 360 degree rotation/steerIng....I've been running one for over 30 years now and it'll rotate through about 180 degrees while still holding your hand on the tiller handle/throttle....
