I have a 1973 Eska 9.9 hp outboard motor (217-58710). I was trying to change out the gear case cover, which had a broken bolt ear from not winterizing, and a little spring and tiny bolt just fell out of the gear case, not broken, just loose. A guy on eBay calls it part of the “shifter bracket”. Can someone direct me to a resource or illustration that will show me how to reassemble the guts of the gear case of the lower unit and swap out the prop assembly on the gear case cover? I don’t know if an old service manual would have this information or not. I tried to find a shop to reassemble it, but can’t find one that wants to work on an old Eska. – Thank you, Jim
