Hello,
This is my first post so I'd like to say hi. I just recently picked up a running Scott-Atwater 483 for $50. Threw some paint on it and ran it in a tank. It started with one pull! However, I noticed it didn't want to spit water until I plugged the hole briefly with my finger then it spurted water but not a solid stream. The more throttle, the more it spits, Waters warm but not hot, Unfortunately, at idle it stops. I realize I need to replace the impeller but can't find one with a basic web search. Does anyone have an idea where I can get one and the seals? I do have the service manual, and I'm mechanically inclined (rebuilt many older motorcycles and cars). Has anyone ever put the impeller in break fluid for 24 hours to swell the rubber and make it pliable again (quick redneck fix)?
Thanks in advance
