59 sea king stalling

hi i have a 59 35hp sae king it will start right up and run but it sputs and sounds like misses or just not getting enough gas . allso when i put it slow it is ok for a short time then it wants to stall out and it will . i set the idel up higher and does the same thing but first it will seed up and down then good night . i think it may fuel pump not sure . if not where do i look next . just not sure what to look for .

Does it still have the original coils? If it does, you can be assured they are shot (cracked). ALL 1959 OMC coils are. It isn't going to run right till you replace them. They are available right here at iboats.

on my way to get a puller to get fly wheel off and check the coils all so would like to get a carb ket . want it runing good for my vac.

will a coil for a 1957 to 1970 coil for johnson and can i use a carb ket for a 1959 johnson also. every thing insidelooks realy good and clean .1 more ? how much tork do i need when i put back together. thanks for all the info that i have got and may get

Yes those coils were used for many years on many OMC motors. Carb kit should work too.
Flywheel crankshaft tapers must be clean and dry, and torque the nut to 60-65 ft lbs.
