1967 sears 4hp fuel/oil ratio

does anyone know exactley what the fuel/oil ratio is for a older sears 4hp...ive heard so many different opinions its hard to know hich is right...my motor is 574-59660...I want to mix in 1 gallon gas cans...heres what the book says

100:l Fuel Mixture O
Sears #603 (100:l) Outboard Motor Oil 6 Oz.
Gasoline (90 Octane) 5 Gal.

40:l Fuel Mixture O
Sears # 150 (40:l) Outboard Motor Oil 16 Oz.
Gasoline (90 Octane) 5 Gal.

20:l Fuel Mixture O O
Sears # 150 (40:l) Outboard Motor Oil 32 Oz.
Gasoline (90 Octane) 5 Gal.

@ All models from 1962, except the 3-1/2 Hp models.
O All models, including the 3-1/2 Hp engine from
1963-65.
8 All 3-1/2 Hp models through 1962.
O Not recommended for engines that use surface-gap spark plugs

I ran mine at 50:1 and used marine 2 cycle oil and it ran great. The manual says 24:1
