this is another question about my 1967 sears 4hp model 574-59660...my question is this...I know this is an air cooled engine but it does have a water cooled exhaust...im wonder how i can tell if my impeller for the exhaust cooling system is working right....when i run the motor i can see and feel with my hand that im getting water out of the exhaust....almost like a hard mist...but im not sure how much should be coming out...otherwise the motor seems to be running ok...any advise would be great...thanks PS....does anyone know where i can get a replacement propeller...ive looked everywhere online like ebay and stuff but no luck

Re: 1967 sears 4hp water impeller

If it is misting, it is working. That doesn't mean it will work tomorrow. A good reason for periodic impeller replacement before it breaks. And those chintzy Eska impellers DO break.

EDIT: My bad, that is a Scott/McCulloch motor, not an Eska. The powerhead is a modified McCulloch chainsaw engine, lower unit was used on Scott-Atwater motors for many years. I have a 1947, uses same wobbler type impeller.

thats a McCulloch. Scott Atwater/McCulloch made Sears models in those years. If you look on ebay and type in McCulloch outboards there are props listed but they aint cheap.:)
