I've got an Eska 5.50 that runs but has a carb problem that's driving me crazy.

It wants more gas and runs only when you blip the gas and give it more and more gas until it revving so high that you have to let off the gas, then it dies.

I've rebuilt the carburetor and cleaned it over and over looking for any restricted passages... I don't find any.

I've replace the fuel pump thingy (looks like a little rubber duck's bill).

Is there anybody in the Houston are that likes to mess with these things and wouldn't mind taking a look at it?

Thanks to all,

Jim

I'd say you have a vacume/air leak someplace. Carb gasket, crankcase half,or crankshaft seals. Just a few things to check. Keep us updated!
Did it run ok before or is it a new to you motor?

If you don't put the duckbill in with the slotted hole ends pointed at 8 and 2 o'clock you get fuel delivery problems.

Is the fuel pump (duckbill) really necessary if you are using the integral gas tank?

I mean isn't that a gravity feed, would the fuel pump even be necessary?

you need the duck bill ( fuel pump ) and like was stated has to be installed correctly.
