1957 Gale Buccaneer GREEN and WHITE paint formula???

Friends,

Does anyone have the mixture directions/formula for the 1957 Gale GREEN and WHITE to match the factory color scheme on the 12S13B???
(The OB runs fine but the paint is badly faded. - Our community college "collision department", which will do the painting for me, must use THEIR paint/materials for "liability reasons".)

Also, does anyone have GOOD quality photos of all 4 sides of the engine?

Hi satx. You might want to check nymarine.ca. They're not the cheapest in the world, but they have very good decals/graphics and factory correct paint/formulas.

Also, the "S" in the model number means "standard" (as opposed to "D" for "deluxe"). What does the "B" mean?

Hello again satx. The "B" in the model number probably just signifies a production batch number. I don't think it indicates any particular features. My '66 20hp is similarly numbered as an FD-20C. While the FD indicates the model of engine as an 18-20hp, the C doesn't mean anything in particular. Most parts from motors of similar vintage and model should be interchangeable.

Actually "B" means "Buccaneer", believe it or not.
(A "Gale guru" found the information in his "Gale library" & posted it to me. - The 2nd number indicates which retailer that the various Gale Products "brands" were "badged" for".)

"A" means Royal ATLAS.
"D" means Fedway SABER.
"E" is ELTO
"G" is B.F. Goodrich SEA FLYER.
"H" is Gambles HIAWATHA.
"M" is AMC's SABER.
"S" is Speigal's BROOKLURE.
"V" is Eaton's VIKING.
and
"W" is Montgomery Wards SEA KING.

"F" may be Goodyear's SEA-BEE, but he is NOT sure.

SADLY, nymarine.ca evidently doesn't have decals for my "S-model", which are quite different than the "D-model".

Good to know on the model letterings. As for the decals, I've heard of folks finding .jpg files of their decals online and taking them to local print shops to have them made. Seems like it would work.
