Re: 6hp Viking ob

Yeah; I see what you mean. It seems to skip over it. I guess you might have already seen this link?

Anybody know about eatonbs Viking motor

And this one:

Viking 6hp outboard

If yours looks like the one in the pictures on that second link....it's made by Chrysler.....You can post specific questions here on iboats on the Chrysler forum. Lots of great people there.

Good Luck....

They will advise you on the oil/gas ratio.....probably 40 or 50 to one if your engine is a 1965. To be safe....I'd run maybe at 24:1 initially if it's been setting up for a while....

I believe the ratio is 24/1. I also have a Viking 6hp but its a model 64601. No info!!! I need to replace the impeller and the prop plus minor parts. Mostly the impeller and prop. Can anyone help me with advice?

I have the book for a Sea King version of a 1965 6hp, by Chrysler. It is a bushing engine, and most would agree you shouldn't run leaner than 24:1. The book tells all the other lube data, but not that one.

West bend was purchased by Chrysler circa: 1965 Fuel ratio as a West Bend in 65 is 16:1
I have a after market service manual that lists West Bend 6/65 and Chrysler 66/67. 65 West bend is model 650
66 Chrysler is 6601,6602,6603Fuel mix is 24:1.
West Bend has upper main roller bearing and roller crank pin.
66 Chrysler has Upper main, and crank pin roller bearing. Both years have roller rods.
Interesting that lube description is 1/2 pt. per gallon for 65 and 66.years. Though Chrysler lists 24:1 separately.
